Storytellers LaRon Williams and Laura Pershin Raynor Celebrate Literacy with the Children’s Literacy Network
Please join us at the Washtenaw Avenue Barnes and Noble as we celebrate literacy and talk to the community about the work of the Children’s Literacy Network. This special event features a book drive for Children’s Literacy Network and activities for children and adults.
Here’s the Schedule of Events for Saturday, September 22nd:
- 10:30 a.m., members of our Board will be on hand to meet the public and to talk to them about our programs.
- 11:00 a.m., Story time in Spanish and English and a special craft for children ages 3-5 will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
- 11:45 a.m., award-winning storyteller Laura Pershin Raynor will entertain children ages 3-8.
- 1:00 p.m., nationally acclaimed storyteller LaRon Williams will tell stories for kids and adults.
- 2:00 p.m., face painting, and storybook characters will read to kids while parents learn more about the Children’s Literacy Network.
Throughout the weekend, Sept 21-23, our friends will be able to support the Children’s Literacy Network with their purchases both online and in the store, using our code, 10826071, (a percentage of proceeds will be donated to our programs). We hope that you will tell as many of your friends, colleagues, and neighbors as you can. Even people outside our community can help, using our code online, during the Sept 21-23 weekend.
